About Me

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page! I’m Matt and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor – Mental Health Service Provider in the State of Tennessee and a National Certified Counselor.

I grew up in northern New Jersey playing ice hockey and working as a summer camp counselor through high school.  I stayed close by family in upstate New York and graduated from Syracuse University in 2009 with a BA in Psychology. While exploring career options, I moved to Utah and Montana to work in the mountains for two years before returning to the New York City area and jumping into the corporate world.

Then, I was inspired after my own therapy and my volunteer experiences in New York City to give my full time to providing a one on one safe space for people.  I made the move to Tennessee in 2013 and received my M.Ed. in Human Development Counseling from Vanderbilt University in 2015.

I have since been working with youth, adults, and families. This included time as a School Counselor, a School-Based Therapist, and a Clinical Therapist at a non-profit. My work has especially been to make a difference to those that are homeless, marginalized, and affected by systemic injustices.

I live in Nashville with my partner, her young kids, and a dog-like cat named Alice. I enjoy family time, live music, games, reading, and watching movies and sports.
